WHAT IS THIS?
Grounded is an app that walks users step-by-step through grounding exercises whenever they find themselves stuck in a moment of anxiety. It also has a journaling function, and a “Relax Zone” that shows calming imagery with a relaxing sound of the user’s choosing.
It can be difficult to find the right resources to learn these grounding techniques, so we made an application that puts the information at the user’s fingertips.
THE PHONE APP
The Grounded phone app has a simple login so users can keep a profile containing their journal logs, their favorite sounds and visuals in the “Relax Zone,” and potential future iterations can include an archive of the user’s most-used grounding techniques.
An additional section of the app is the Resources tab, where the user can find the books and articles these grounding techniques came from. They can also access their favorite phone contacts, Suicide Prevention Hotline, and other crisis support services in case of a severe anxiety attack.
THE WATCH OS APP
The function of the watch app is identical to the phone app. When a user doesn’t have their phone, all they need to do is look at their watch, and everything they need will be conveniently sitting on their wrist!
THE CHILDREN’S BOOK
The “Get Grounded with Koa the Koala” book is promotional material for the app. Users would recieve the book and get a better understanding of the story behind our little mascot. It also shows the importance of grounding. A great piece of light reading material for kids and adults alike, this book is a love letter to anyone who has experienced anxiety.
