ABOUT
When AI inevitably runs the world we live in, the collective electronic algorithm is tasked with making an instructional video for humans so they have an easier time adjusting to the change.
THE INSPIRATION
This cartoon style, known as the UPA Style, was the perfect way for me to convey an uncanny mixture of rigid, structural vibes and humanistic, organic overtones. I thought to myself: if AI made a friendly mascot to appeal to humans, it would most likely look like this!

I also found the UPA Style to be effective in showing how AI can only create from what has already been made. This style used to be everywhere, so naturally there would be a wide database of visuals like this for AI to take inspiration from. It’s friendly, dynamic, and visually stimulating (when humans make it).
BROUGHT TO YOU BY AI
For this project, I decided to utilize an AI image generator called Leonardo.ai to create a bulk of the imagery. I wanted to see how AI would present prompts like “the extinction of humanity due to AI” and “AI running the government.” The images Leonardo generated helped me get a better understanding of how AI thinks the whole takeover would go down.
Using AI to generate imagery also made the slightly unsettling tone really shine through! My production approach was heavily grounded in how my audience would respond to everything shown to them, so I was always keeping emotions/psychology in mind.
