ABOUT
A purple bat lives in a world that only shows them blue bears and pink birds. This short motion piece was inspired by my experiences as a genderqueer individual living in America, where there has been rising conflict about lgbtq+ people and gender identity in recent times.
In short, this piece is about visibility. The society I grew up in taught me that I could only be what I was born with, but that isn’t true. Humans are beautiful and complex creatures that can’t be limited to their anatomy. Everyone deserves to feel comfortable in their own bodies, and everyone deserves to be seen.
